Tauntaun is a fictional species from the Star Wars universe. The tauntaun is a non-sentient lizard-like race native to the planet of Hoth. The tauntaun secretes a pungent oil beneath its layered fur in order to attract mates; the odor is often considered foul by humanoid species.
