aurora (phenomenon)
Also known as the northern lights (aurora borealis) or southern lights (aurora australis), an aurora is a phenomenon that occurs when particles from the sun are in the Earth's magnetic field, moving towards the north and south pole and become gases, causing them to give off light. The colors of an aurora depend on the gases that are in the Earth's atmosphere.
