Mavis is the daughter of Count Dracula and Martha Dracula. Her mother passes at an early age and Count Dracula decides to build the Hotel Transylvania so that he can keep her safe from the dangers of the human world. Every year on her birthday the Count invites monsters from around the world to take refuge and celebrate. Though she loves her father deeply Mavis harbors a secret desire to see the outside world. The film depicts the events of her 118th Birthday and the resulting confluence.
