The Dinosaur (also known as "Lonely T-Rex") is an anthro t-rex character that only appears in Google's Dinosaur Game.

It's a black 8-bit tyrannosaurus rex, with white dotted eyes. (During the night cycle, its colors are reversed: its body is white and it has black dotted eyes.)
It first appears on the "No internet" or "You are offline" page with a simple blinking animation. Once the user presses the space bar, presses the up or down key or touches the dino with the finger, the ground appears and the game begins.

Lonely T-Rex starts running to the right indefinitely, raising the score, and the player must help it (with the space bar, the up button or by touching the screen) to jump to avoid the various cacti on its path. It can also bend down (using the down button only) to avoid the pterodacryl flying overhead.

When it hits a cactus or pterodacyl, it suddenly stops with a "death" sprite, marking a game over. The user can replay to beat his/her score while waiting to see the Internet again...

Earlier in development, it was suggested that the Dino could have a roaring animation, that it could kick and even in another version where dust flies out of its feet as it runs... However, these ideas were abandoned during development.

Although the sex of Lonely T-Rex has never been officially specified... Many artists draw the Dinosaur as a male. (mainly by inserting cacti in his anus or being fucked by the pterodacyls)
