
etchu fundoshi
A type of fundoshi, consisting of a rectangular fabric with a fastening string attached to one short side. Worn by tying the string around one’s waist with the fabric beginning at the buttocks and pulling the fabric between the legs and out through the belly-side string to form an apron.
Comprises the two most common forms of fundoshi alongside rokushaku fundoshi, being more suited to casual wear than the latter which requires a more involved procedure.
