A polearm with a two curved prongs forming an open ring or semicircle, designed to loop around a person's torso, limbs or neck.
Some have spring-loaded hooks that allow the ring to be pushed onto a person before closing, allowing the man-catcher to pull them to the ground. Others use a simpler semicircular head with blunt ends, designed to push someone away, or pin their neck or limbs to a wall or the ground from a safe distance.
