General Muscle Guide

An informal grouping of multiple muscles of the neck, the neck muscles include the upper portions of the Trapezius and the Sternocleidomastoid muscles along with other more subtle muscles of the neck. Neck muscles stabilize and articulate the head, they also help facilitate breathing.

Neck muscles are generally most visible thru a "V" shaped formation across the front of the neck created by the pair of sternocleidomastoid muscles running from the corners of the jaw down to the convergence of the sternum and collarbones. The portions of trapezius muscle that extend around the sides of the neck and connect to the outer margins of the collarbones may also create a important landmark separating the neck proper and shoulders thru a distinct rounded prominence visually speaking.

If the neck muscles are well developed and visible in the picture then it should be tagged.
