Yuri was born on October 13th, 2001, to the royal Chacal family in Burlington, Canada. Growing up, Yuri was taught discipline and how to maintain royal status. In 2008, the Chacal family was on vacation in San Antonio Mexico. An unknown-looking robot broke into the Chacal's vacation home and slaughtered his father, nurse, and mother. United States soldiers hunting the robot prevented the robot from getting to Yuri and took him to safety. Later that year the soldier that saved Yuri adopted him and took him back to Massachusetts, United States. Yuri was now growing up in an American household. All males in his new family always joined the military right out of high school. Yuri respected that family and decided he was no different. After boot camp, Yuri was selected to join the C.A.M. and lead a specialist team. This reason is still unknown to Yuri to this day. One night on a mission, Yuri was attacked by a familiar robot the C.A.M., and F.E.W. was hunting in Mexico and Yuri was beaten brutally. He lost his arm and movement in his legs. Yuri almost died that night. After life-saving surgery and major body modification and enhancements from F.E.W., Yuri can now serve again. He is referred to as Prototype 9 by F.E.W.

Yuri was created by SoppyCastle9 with the artist Kytcrafts. He has gone through several designs, from his basic green LEDs to his updated 2023 design with C.A.M. and SPEC OPS letters and jet thrusters to his now modern (2025) update with a fresh tail design, C.A.M., and his Dutch angel patch etched into his chest from Kradee.
Yuri is owned by SoppyCastle9, who uses the protogen for his Twitch streams and YouTube videos as his identity. Yuri is also the main character in the comic Prototype 9.
