brick phone
"Brick phone" describes the earliest cellphones, made during the 1980s. These phones are characterized by their large, bulky brick-like form and prominent antenna.
The Motorola DynaTAC, sold from 1983 to 1993, is the most widespread example of "brick phone" — art featuring '80s cellphones will often either directly copy, or draw inspiration from this specific model's design. In many other cases, however, brick phones may be simplified to merely being a rectangular device with a visible speaker, receiver and antenna.
