William Afton is the main antagonist from the Five Nights at Freddy's video game series, created by Scott Cawthon. He is a twisted serial killer who is responsible for almost every murder in the series and is the sole reason why most of the Animatronics in the series are possessed in the first place.

Formely an average human, his rotting corpse is now the host of a withered Spring Bonnie suit, commonly refered to as Springtrap.

He first appeared on the secret "Death Minigames" from Five Night's at Freddy's 2, depicted as a simple Purple colored Atari-styled humanoid who was always shown smiling. He was commonly nicknamed "Purple Guy" by the fans, due to the lack of knowledge of his character at the time.
He has since appeared in every game of the series in some way or another.
