Species: chacoan mara

The Chacoan mara (Dolichotis salinicola) is a cavy, one of a number of rodents native to South American (in this species' case, Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia). Although they appear somewhat rabbit-like, they are not lagomorphs and are actually more closely related to guinea pigs. They are classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
