storyboard
A storyboard is an organized series of images or illustrations made for the productions of visual media that are organized in a sequence to pre-visualize scenes. They help with many things in the production of a visual work, including visualizing the storytelling, timing keyframes, and defining the technical aspects of a scene, such as lighting and motion.
Storyboards help plan scenes in advance and keep production time and costs down. Storyboarding is most commonly affiliated with the field of animation, but it's used in many other fields including live-action film, theatre, and even literature. Professional storyboard artists are often employed to create the storyboards necessary to visualize scenes.
