Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: caught -> caught_in_the_act

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #79086 caught -> caught_in_the_act has been rejected.

Reason: I don't get the difference between these tags, can we just stick to caught_in_the_act, which is more common?
Following the logic of TGYS, if you were caught, you were doing something. Hence, you were caught in the act.

EDIT: The tag alias caught -> caught_in_the_act (forum #463189) has been rejected by @Bpedron.

I see. You can be caught_off_guard while not necessarily doing anything (not in the act). Think of an attack from behind, for example.
In that case, caught_(disambiguation) is more adequate.

Given that you can see what's wrong with the alias, just for a quick FYI, you can reject your own suggestion if you click "alias #79086" in the top forum post and press "Reject".
