You'd think people would just add caught to stuff they're also tagging with things like caught in the act, but they don't. Is there a reason, or do most people just forget the tag exists?

Nope! caught and caught_off_guard have no associated aliases or implications. caught_masturbating implies caught_in_the_act and masturbation.

prior to the mass update was a dealias request so these were aliased together at some point. not sure when exactly alias #11206 went into effect, because there's not a paper trail on the forums from back then, and the modactions are all weird before a certain point, but presumably it'd been around for a while.
