Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #39245 luis_(disambiguation) -> any_admin has been rejected.

Reason: Can you make Danganronpa and Ace_Attorney an implicated Tag for visual Novel Please?

EDIT: The tag implication luis -> any_admin (forum #310898) has been rejected by @Millcore.

What? Hello? How does that relate to the tag luis?

i have a feeling the user's name is luis

Oh that suddenly makes so much more sense, the "From" and "To" are like a contact form.

So they're actually proposing these implications?

imply Danganronpa -> visual_novel
imply Ace_Attorney -> visual_novel

I don't know anything about the first, but the second wouldn't be correct. As far as I know, Ace Attorney is a video game series with adaptations to various other media including manga (likely where the visual_novel comes from).

Danganronpa has an anime and several non-VN games.

Ace Attorney has at least one anime (movie), too. Incidentally, Pokemon has many non-video games stuff (and characters made for, if not exclusive to, non-video game media), but still implicates it.

That implication should probably be removed IMO

Not that simple, since pokémon implicates nintendo, which implicates video games. You'd need to deimplicate video games from nintendo, which may be appropriate given that Nintendo IPs aren't always video games (as indicated by Pokémon), but does leave certain video game-only franchises hanging. monster hunter -> capcom -> video games may also need reconsideration, since there's a Monster Hunter anime and manga (and movie), not just video games. I wager several games/companies have the same problem, as many popular series are cross-media. Maybe it would be better for video games to be used for actual video games (as in, the disks, cartridges, and game depictions) and game consoles/accessories only, rather than a "character [or species] who originates from a video game".

video_games is a stupid tag. We don't have equivalent tags for any other form of media, and it adds nothing of value to the site.

visual_novel should probably be removed for the same reasons.

I've never liked how video_games is applied because it violates TWYS the majority of the time. If we go by TWYS, video_games should only be applied if there's a video game actually being portrayed in the picture. Yet, most of the time, video_games is tagged when there is no evidence of a video game visible.
