@zenitix: Textures in general are not the same as photographic noise, and do not "play well" with the lossy compression of jpegs. It will just end up looking like a discolored mess, especially with warmer colors.
@zenitix: jpg is optimized for random noise, not for structured ones. Reds are very rare in real life and thus are stronger compressed with only half the byte size allocated to them.
Don't use jpg for art, use lossless instead.
