slit

A slit is a long narrow opening in the body. There are both natural slits, and unnatural slits such as those caused by being cut open. This tag should only be used for natural slits. Slits caused by cutting body tissue should use slit (wound) instead. For slit-shaped pupils, use slit pupils instead.

Note: This tag is extremely messy, and likely to be disambiguated at some point. Try to use other tags instead.

Not to be confused with:

  • cloaca, pussy - Vaginal and cloacal slits should not use this tag.
  • hole_(anatomy) - If it's more round or irregularly shaped instead of long and narrow, this tag may be more appropriate.
  • sheath - A sheath doesn't count as a slit either.

Related tags:

  • ambiguous_slit - Use this if the slit is clearly genitalia, but you're unable to determine if it's a slit for a penis, a cloaca, or possibly even pussy. (This is common for ambiguous gender reptiles, and other similar creatures.)
  • genital_slit
  • gills
  • mammary_slits
