A Lich is an undead sorcerer, who, through an arcane ritual, was able to remove their very soul and place it in an inanimate object known as a phylactery to keep it safe, dying and coming back to life as an animated skeleton in the process. A Lich will not move very far from their phylactery; and may keep it on their person. While the phylactery is intact, the Lich is technically invincible (their body can be destroyed but it regenerates around the phylactery), but dies instantly when the phylactery is destroyed. The phylactery may take any form; from a ruby necklace to a box of papers or anything in between.
