Discord Moderation
Rules
The rules of the Discord server are broadly similar to e621's own rules, but the Discord platform necessitates additional rules.
The rules may be viewed in their entirety in the #welcome channel, but to briefly sum up the differences:
- All rules of Discord apply in full (https://discordapp.com/terms & https://discordapp.com/guidelines).
- Certain hard fetishes must not produce full previews and must have warnings describing the fetish content, even when they may normally be embedded on e621.
- Posts including young characters may not be linked or embedded, even when they may normally be linked and embedded on e621.
Discord Moderators
In addition to the members listed at e621:staff, the Discord server has a number of additional staff members, "D-Moderators".
Appealing Discord Bans
You may message Lead Administrator NotMeNotYou to inquire about and appeal Discord account bans.
Private Help
The Discord server includes a #private-help channel where users may file tickets to discuss privately with Administrators, Moderators, Janitors, and D-Moderators.
It is good practice to open your ticket by providing immediately relevant information (who, what, why, where, etc.) instead of waiting for a staff response.
Non-sensitive inquiries (such as fixing one's blacklist, finding specific posts, etc.) should generally be redirected to #e621-helpdesk or #tag-discussions instead.
- Artists, commissioners, and character owners can file takedown requests on the site's Takedowns form, as usual.
- Reporting users, posts, pools, sets, etc. on the site is sufficient for notifying Admins and Moderators of non-Discord issues.
- Flagging posts on the site is sufficient for notifying Admins and Janitors of non-Discord issues.
Staff with the "Private Help Helpers" role are immediately notified of new tickets, while other staff members may choose to voluntarily participate. The conversation is completely invisible to non-staff.
If you wish to include another user to discuss something or provide testimony, you may ask a staff member to add them to the ticket by mentioning their Discord account.
A single Discord account may make one ticket a day. If you have closed your ticket prematurely and have something new to discuss, you may wish to contact an e621 staff member to reopen the ticket.
Nicknames
Upon joining the e621 Discord server, your Discord account will be assigned a nickname matching your e621 username. Users are not allowed to assign themselves arbitrary nicknames.
e621 staff members can assign nicknames, but are under no obligation to do so. Assume that asking may result in a joke being made at your expense.
Synchronizing your e621 Username
You may synchronize your Discord nickname with your currently active e621 Username by sending a direct message to the "e621 Bot" with the contents !e621 sync 123.
This may be useful if you have changed your name on-site, or if you have grown bored of a particular vanity nickname.
