gunblade
A hybrid weapon that shares the characteristics of a gun and a bladed weapon, popularized by Final Fantasy VIII.
Gunblades often incorporate an irregular grip that is not parallel with the blade, a visible trigger, and/or a revolving cylinder.
Final Fantasy incarnations of the weapon usually lack a barrel, and they instead use ammunition to channel an explosive effect through the blade.
