Amblyopia (also know as lazy eye) is a curable form of poor vision caused by abnormal visual development during early life.
Amblyopia in most cases causes one eye to be weaker than the other causing it to drift, Though in more severe cases it can cause both eyes to be weakened.
If left untreated it can cause the brain to rely on the stronger eye to a degree that all control is lost in the weaker eye and it is left blind with the danger of causing blindness in the unaffected eye as well.If both eyes are affected and left untreated it may cause blindness and loss of eye control in both eyes.
The treatment for early amblyopia is usually simple mainly consisting of use of eye drops or a eyepatch on the stronger eye though treatment may require use of supplements, Though curing late amblyopia is unlikely to be effective.
