Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an action RPG video game in the Pokémon franchise released for the Nintendo Switch console on January 28, 2022. Set in the Hisui region, a past version of the Sinnoh region from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, the game features open-world catching and battling in order to create Hisui's first Pokédex. The game also introduced new regional forms for several species of Pokémon, new evolutions, and many of the human NPCs met throughout the game's story are implied to be ancestors to characters from previous mainline Pokémon games.
