vinegar

Vinegar is a sour, weakly-acidic solution, commonly used as a drink, as a condiment, in brining, and/or as a mild domestic cleaning agent. It is generally made from alcohol, and often may be made from spoiled wine, hence its name (vinegar, from the Old French vyn-egre, from Latin "vinum acer, "sour wine," literally "wine sour").
