Ashley Whitaker^[1] is a character created by Anti Dev. He is Crew Byrne's best friend (and only friend).^[2]

He's Crew best friend. Only friend, really. He's the nicest guy in the world, he would wake up at 6 a.m. just to bake you banana bread. He can also kick anyone's ass. He wouldn't, but he could.

Whitaker is a lizard. Anti Dev combined traits from different kinds of lizards until he got something he liked. "We'll call him a... horned frilled lizard, I guess."^[2] He is 24 years old.^[3]

According to Anti Dev, Whitaker and Crew's "whole dynamic is supposed to be that Whitaker is an unbreakable optimist and Crew hates absolutely everything, but I keep wanting to draw them being happy together."^[4]

• Whitaker is an amazing cook and a health and fitness fanatic.^[5]
• Takes health and fitness very seriously. "He'll judge the hell out of your eating habits."^[6]
• Has a cloaca.^[7]
• Makes everyone call him by his last name, even close friends.^[8]
• Is bisexual but leans harder towards ladies. He's slept with some guys but never dated any.^[9]
• Whitaker wants Crew to switch from coffee to tea, since he drinks so much he has terrible insomnia.^[10]
• Has a motorcycle.^[11]
• Is terrified of Crew's pet boa constrictor.^[12]
• Doesn't wear deodorant because of the alleged cancer link. Crew tries not to be turned on by it.^[13]
• Both of his parents are deceased.^[14]
• Knows blood and shadow magic and can detect auras with psychic echolocation.^[15]
• One thing he can do is turn his blood into venomous spiders. Anti Dev "thought it'd be fun to contrast his generally upbeat personality with horrifying arcane powers."^[16]
• He is possibly a sadist.^[17]
