R2-D2 is a robot character from Star Wars in similar fashion as C-3PO and BB-8.

R2-D2 is a cylindrical white robot with blue rings striping his body. He has a hemispherical rotating head on top of him and three legs: one straight below his main body, and two attached to the sides.

Although all three robots are called 'droids' in the Star Wars universe, by e621-classification only C-3PO is an android. R2-D2 and BB-8 are robots, but not androids.
