Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Mewtwo's appearance is loosely based on Mew, with a less feline look. Its body is purple and it has three fingers on each hand. Mewtwo projects a faint purple aura when at full power. It is an artificial lifeform created by Team Rocket, though its exact backstory is different across the various Pokémon canons.

Mewtwo is the antagonist of the first Pokémon movie, where he has a masculine voice and is referred to as male. He attempts to take over the world due to his hatred of humans, but ultimately chooses peace. A different Mewtwo also appears in Genesect and the Legend Awakened; it has a feminine voice, but its gender is never stated.

Though it technically doesn't evolve, Mewtwo has two Mega Evolutions, which appear in the Pokemon X and Y games.
