Warhammer: Vermintide is a videogame series based on Warhammer Fantasy Battle, developed and published by Fatshark

The game is set during the early days of the End Times; an apocalytipc event that ended with the destruction of the Warhammer World. The game features five playable characters (though only four can be played during the levels), and plays very similarly to the Left 4 Dead Series.

The first game was released in 2014 for PC and Consoles and introduced the five playable heroes known as the "Heroes of Ubersreik", consisting of: Markus Kruber (an Imperial Soldier), Victor Saltzpyre (an Imperial Witch-Hunter), Bardin Goreksson (a Dwarf Ranger), Sienna Fuegonasus (a fire-mage known as a "Bright Wizard") and Kerillian (A Wood Elf Waywatcher).

The main enemies of the first game are the chaos rat-men known as the Skaven, led by the Grey Seer Rasknitt of Clan Fester, who attempt to take over an Empire city known as "Ubersreik". The Heroes fight the invading rat-men, and though they managed to score victories and drive off the Skaven, they are ultimately captured by Rasknitt. Without the interference of the Heroes of Ubersreik, the city fell to the Skaven.

A sequel, Vermintide II, was released in 2018 for PC and Consoles, which saw the return of the Heroes of Ubersreik and Clan Fester, alongside the latter's new allies, the Rotbloods (a chaos warband dedicated to Nurgle, the Chaos God of pestilence and rot).

The Heroes escape Rasknitts clutches and reunite to prevent the Grey Seer from completing the construction of massive portal known as the Skittergate, which will allow the Chaos Champion Bödvarr Ribspreader to summon his entire warband upon the border-city of Helmgart. Together, the Heroes slay each of Rasknitt's allies before the Grey Seer is at last slain by the five heroes.
