
Species: helmeted hornbill
The helmeted hornbill (Rhinoplax vigil) is a very large bird in the hornbill family, Bucerotidae. It can be recognized by the helmet like casque. A wrinkly bare throat patch is also present on this hornbill that is red for males and pale blue to greenish for females. It has a black plumage, with a white belly and legs. Tail feathers are white with a black band near the tip.
