Hamtaro is a male hamster, and main character of the Hamtaro series. In the series he is a pet owned by Laura Haruna, and spends most of his time hanging out and going on adventures with his friends, which belong to a group known as the Ham-ham gang. Bijou is known to have a love interest with Hamtaro.

Hamtaro features predominantly cream colored fur with asymmetrical orange fur along the top, and crossing the forehead area.
