Species: blue manakin
The blue manakin (Chiroxiphia caudata), also known as the swallow-tailed manakin is a small species of bird in the family Pipridae. Males of the species feature a bright blue body, which is distinctive from other manakin species, black wings, head, and tail feathers, and a red crown. Females and juveniles feature an olive-green body similar to other manakin species. Their appearance is contrary to their species name, as they lack the blue feathers of the male species.
