A subfamily within the felid (cat) family, specific to small and medium-sized cats unable to roar. This includes species like the cheetah and cougar as, though they are larger than other species, they are part of this subfamily and unable to roar. Taxonomically speaking, the term "feline" actually only refers to the felinae subfamily, so use the felid tag to search the entire cat family. This tag is an acceptable generic tag for unidentifiable felid characters which appear most similar to small cats than to big cats, so use this if this is the case.
