A decorative plant bundle for Christmas and the December holiday season, often in a wreath or sphere shape formed by wires with plants but also can be just a bundle. The kissing bough is hung or held and the intent is to kiss under it. Generally made of mistletoe however some confused people use holly instead.

Regardless of the particular plant used, the intent is to incite kissing of the thing beneath it.
