The peach is a fruit grown from a deciduous tree which is native to Northwest China, between the Tarim Basin and the north slopes of the Kunlun Mountains. It is known for its rich coloration, fuzzy skin on the exterior, and a hard stone in the center.
A mutation of the peach exists, known as the nectarine; it is characterized by the lack of fuzz on the skin.
