Handbook of the Mammals of the World is a book series from the publisher Lynx Edicions. It is a book series in which each mammal family is assessed, each species having their own text descriptions and info as well as distribution maps. The book is well known for its detailed, photorealistic illustrations, in which the species of a family are all drawn on a single page right next to each other, often highlighting their heights and differing qualities and attributes.

There are currently 8 volumes, with a 9th in the works. The latest installment is Insectivores, Sloths and Colugos.
