Leggings are similar to pants but are a skin-tight garment made from a thicker material that covers the wearer from the waist to anywhere between the knee and the ankle, leaving the feet uncovered.

Not to be confused with
- thigh_highs - Stockings, thigh socks, and leg warmers should not be tagged as leggings. Leggings are worn like pants and should cover the waist. As thigh highs or "stockings" are a close-fitting elastic garment covering the wearer from the toe to somewhere between the knee and mid-thigh (see here)
- tights - Tights tend to be more sheer.
