Sorry for nearly a week with no posts or arts, I've been doing practice and study drawings of muscles which isn't particularly exciting or fun so I abstained from posting those, things should be back on schedule now though, so I should be posting 2-3 images per week.

This piece was a fan art of Cregga Rose Eyes from the Redwall Book series, Cregga makes an appearance in 3 books as I remember but I tried to base this particular image off of what I thought she looked like in the book "The Long Patrol". So I know I said I was gonna draw Flinky and his wife(?) Crinktail next but I was struggling to come up with ideas for a double piece so I decided to draw Cregga in the meantime while I thought of an idea for a Flinky Crinktail piece. I've still not settled on a piece for those 2 and since Flinky is quite possibly my favorite character in the whole of Redwall I really want to make sure whatever I draw for him will be good, so my next piece probably wont be Flinky :(. Anyway Cregga, she's one of the better badgers in the series which is why I choose to draw her. I feel mostly meh about the badgers in Redwall, like they're all ok characters but rarely one of my favorites in the book they appear in and sometimes I do just out right dislike them. I think Constance the Badger really did a number on my opinion of Redwall Badgers in general but thats a whole really really big can of worms right there so I wont get into Constance and why I dislike her, maybe if I ever draw slagar I'll talk about Constance. Ok so Cregga she's cool and all but I really don't like most of the official art for her that I can find, its all just generic redwall badger in pink habit with pink eyes which I feel is very boring for her character. So I took some liberties with her appearance yet again, I left her habit but added some chainmail beneath it and added some small pauldrons to atleast give her a somewhat warrior like appearance. The chainmail was definitely the most experimental thing I tried with this piece, I tried it a few times and the final result is nice but I do prefer how it looked in the sketch a bit more then how it looks in the final image. I also tried moving away from pure flat grayscale for the base of this practice image, I looked at it when it was all one solid grey and realized that the character might not read as a badger so I added some white to the head area and that really badgered things up a bit. The rest is fairly standard fair for me. The only other thing I tried differently was added some chips and scratch marks to her pauldrons, which I think came out well which only makes me regret not adding some scratches to her halberd as well. Anyway there isn't much more to say about this Cregga drawing, now I gotta think about how I want to draw Flinky and Crinktail or who I'm gonna draw while I think about what I wanna draw with Flinky and Crinktail.
