Sometimes I have the good fortune of interesting images popping up in my head. And even fewer times those images make enough of an impact to inspire me. For this one I had this thought of Zander floating in a glass of wine. I wanted to include a sort of pin-up of Zander following my last submission batch. I'm happy with how it turned out. Having worked with graphic design I considered rendering the image of Zander separate from the rest of the scene and then cut and pasting them together. But I decided to settle with rendering them all together. Part of my intent with this image was to sort of look like one of those eye-catching magazine ads with surreal image that were popular at the turn of the era.
One little exploration I got to do with this image was playing with Blender's water simulation tool. It's how I achieved the affect of the wine pouring into the glass.
