The 80s ™ CocaineWhere IS the beef? Did we ever find it? I remember it being part of a huge ad campaign in the 80s about this old woman desperately trying to find the hamburger part of a fast-food hamburger, and that was like, 30 years ago.
I'm pretty sure she died, never having found the beef. And that's awful. But that's kind of also her fault for repeatedly going to the same restaurant over and over again and being angry that she could NEVER find the beef when really, there are actual clichéd sayings about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
But I think if you peel back the metaphical layers a bit more, you'll remember that there were "Where's The Beef" merchandise available for purchase, which means even if you're desperate for any change in the location of beef as you repeatedly visit the same unsatisfying restaurants, there will always be people seeking to profit from your misery.
I'm sure that says a lot about the human condition, and probably explains why so many people did drugs in the 80s.
