Starlight Glimmer adjusted Equestria's past by making sure the Sonic Rainboom never happened and Twilight and her friends were never brought together. In her efforts to fix it, Twilight stumbled upon a timeline where Nightmare Moon took over Equestria and captured Twilight and Spike quickly before they could get away.
