Topic: [REJECTED] Character name/username cleanup

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #11811 has been rejected.

mass update bluespark -> leon_(bluespark)
change category bluespark (0) -> artist

Reason: Yeah, I know these are tags refer to myself, but I just noticed they were a bit of a mess and wanted to clean them up a bit.
These are two separate tags that, in their current use, refer to the same character. But "leon_(bluespark)" is specifically the character, while "bluespark" is just the username the character belongs to. So I thought it'd probably be better to move everything into the character tag, then adjust the username to artist to reflect that it's a username.
I would have requested these two tags be merged completely, since I haven't uploaded anything that anyone wanted on e621 (as far as I'm aware), though I couldn't find how to specifically request that.

EDIT: The bulk update request #11811 (forum #460754) has been rejected by @spe.

It was only 8 posts, so I just moved them over manually. However, commissioners don't get tagged on e6, especially not with an artist tag, so unless you're also an artist, bluespark should not be turned into an artist tag.

Ah okay, thanks!
I did mention I do art, though no one has uploaded anything of mine as of yet, but if necessary the tag could just as easily be deleted, I'm not particularly fussed either way

We can't delete tags per se, we can only remove them from posts that they don't belong in.
If a tag becomes problematic, then it may be aliased/merged into invalid_tag to prevent it from being used ever again.

In the case for your tag, it is fine to leave it as is since it is no longer in use.
If your artwork were to make it here one day and you want to make bluespark into an artist tag, you can easily do so by clicking on the tag link, then clicking on "Edit Tag Type" on the top of the page, and then choosing "Artist" before submitting.

You can also manually reject your current BUR #11811 by clicking on the "Reject" command, since @Labra has already done the tag moving for you.
