The tag alias #78610 sodablitzed -> cheeser has been approved.

Reason: I have since changed my artist tag, which will remain permanent. I am unsure whether this is how i request to change the tag, but figured i may as well try

You will be ask to show something concrete as proof . Something like a FA account/post/journal, a link to twitter, blusky, etc. Anything that a moderator can see the 2 handles are from the same person

The artist is verified. They don’t need to do any additional homework to show they are who they say they are.

verified? How can I tell?

Also, even if they both verified, don't he need to show the link between them? Otherwise what would prevent another verified user to impersonate someone else?

If you check their posts they have the check mark that shows a user is verified.

And no verification is linked to your e6 account and only shows up if you use the correctly linked tag so impersonation isn’t possible as far as I am aware.

Aaah I see, Thank you.

I'm gonna trust you on that, I'm too green to know that as of yet. My aim was just to make the approval goes smoother, so if everything is already okay, then already is okay. Good intentions and all that

No worries! It’s nice having fresh faces in the forums helping out! E6 is a community effort so the more the merrier!

And if it helps explain it, I am a verified artist. I have check mark on any piece that is posted by me and has my artist tag, so it’s a two part system, the check mark only appears if you are the account linked to that artist tag, and the artist tag has to be on the post. My check mark won’t appear if I post a commission I received or any other upload I could make, and even if I change my name, it will still only be verified to my account so it’s easy to tell.

Basically, the reason we ask for offsite proof of a link is to make sure the artist really is using or has used both names. Obviously, if it's the artist making the request, it should be good, we also want to make sure that it's not some impersonator trying to cause trouble, hence why even those requests posted by a User with the name of the artist in question get source checked. However, with Artist Verification all the work has already been done proving that the User is the artist and that, yes, the artist wants this name change. It certainly saves a lot of source checking work. It's like an undocumented perk of Artist Verification and certainly saves a lot of work.

You're fine. There's no real guidelines or standards set down anywhere, so it's really been something that's been organically worked out as we go along, and I'd hardly be surprised if even veteran forumites are fuzzy on how they can do it. Right now, the only real ways to figure it out is to observe what others (usually me, I admit) are doing or learn to be telepathic. That you're new here and figured out what you have already is actually doing pretty good.
