The bulk update request #11625 is pending approval.

mass update knot -> knot_(anatomy)
create alias knot (237180) -> knot_(disambiguous) (0) # has blocking transitive relationships, cannot be applied through bur

Reason: It has come to my attention that we have to disambiguate tags that might theoretically have another use case, even if they're not actively used by anyone as such in this community. So that means we've got to disambiguate Knot, since people might think we're talking about the deliberate tangle in a rope.

Gotta be consistent you know!

Listen, I know you’re upset, but making requests based on spite is not recommended.

If you are serious about this though here are my tips:

you cannot both update and alias in the same BUR since you can’t guarantee which part of the BUR comes first, and you need to unimplicate and unalias every tag connected with it first. So it would be at least 35 lines to unimplicate everything only (a BUR can have max 25 lines I believe) so 2 burs just to unimply.

Also the suffix would be disambiguation, not disambiguous.

I have brought up the question about knot being disambiguated on topic #44531 and the general comment seems to be that it doesn't warrant a disambiguation if it is well-established enough within the general furry community itself and it isn't becoming problematic.

However, it was also noted that if the tag was being misused a lot, then it should be disambiguated.
I can't say for sure how often disposal is being misused, so I will leave the discussion behind on topic #57556.
What I can say is that for knot vs. mistags of rope/rope_knot, there does seem to have quite a few but infrequent mistags over the years (see changes to 'rope' & changes to 'rope_knot' ) which may be justification to disambiguate the tag.

In my opinion though, knot seems to be well-established enough that most furries would know what knot means and that the mistags are negligible (i.e., the mistags above vs. the total of ~237k correct posts), thus not warranting a disambiguation.

what im hearing any tags for minority kinks should be disambigous

That's because disposal is an arguably less commonly used term as compared to knot.
The majority of the furry community* would not know what disposal colloquially means, unless they are part of the vore community as well.
In contrast, if you ask them what a knot is in the furry community, most would know it means the bulbus glandis.
(* I use "furry community" here as to mean those who are familiar with artworks, culture, and kinks/NSFW-side of things.)

Likewise, we have many other "ambiguous" terms such as feral, watersports, etc. that the majority of the general furry community would know the meaning to, and as such, are not disambiguated.
If you ask the furry community, they would say that feral is a character in its "natural" non-anthro form (as opposed to meaning a "wild" animal) and that watersports mean kinks involving peeing or urine (as opposed to water-based sports).

On the other hand, if an "ambiguous" term is only used by a minority kink community, it can pave way to problems down the road when the unacquainted tries to use the tag.
For example, "belly_slapping" was a colloquial term used by the equine community to describe how a stallion masturbates (see topic #39554 & topic #57778), but it was aliased away to another tag since people here are using it interchangeably with belly_slap (i.e., the act of slapping the belly).
It was also noted that a disambiguation is not needed here since mistags are rare and a disambiguation would require constant fixing and maintenance.

There are actually a lot of (mostly younger) furries who think feral means nonsentient natural state. Eg actually just an animal. Not just feral in form as e6 uses it. Not that I think we should toss them that bone as it will only further stigmatise nonmorohic characters in a way that's negative to the community.

(Also as discussed in the other thread, it doesn't get mistagged much at all, less than 20 instances in 12 years. I don't think many people care about it being aliased to something else 'clearer'. I just don't think a disambiguation tag will help anyone and will have to be maintained given that this is the term used. And no one else uses it. )
