Topic: Tag Discussion: Cloth_Glansjob & Lotion_Gauze

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I posted a question a while ago on the "Do we have a tag for that" thread, in regards to a specific kink that is only commonly seen in Japanese/Chinese artworks.
Since there does not seem to be any existing tag for it, I would like to start a discussion on naming the potential new tags.

  • Definition: Using a piece of cloth, clothing (commonly panties or pantyhose), or gauze/bandage to stimulate the glans of the penis by gliding over it or "polishing" it from side-to-side or back-and-forth. The cloth used is sometimes soaked in lotion or lube to enhance the stimulation. The character receiving the treatment may also be seen bound or in bondage as part of BDSM play, where they receive some form of glans_torture or orgasm_denial.
  • Potential Naming: Commonly paired with terms such as "lotion gauze"/"ローションガーゼ" (for the object) and "glans polishing" or "glansjob" (for the action). Danbooru has it named as a cloth_glansjob, but I don't think it was called that anywhere else. On another note, Wikipedia has a Japanese article called ローションガーゼ (lotion gauze), but it is a stub article that only cites one source.
  • Examples:

post #5065068 post #4861540 post #3390519 post #4090940 post #4787276

For my own suggestions,

  • I think calling the "action tag" as cloth_glansjob should be fine since it is already used by Danbooru and can serve as a catch-all term for all types of fabrics used in the glansjob (ranging from cloth to panties).
  • I think calling the "object tag" as lotion_gauze would be fine since that is what it is called on Wikipedia, specifically this refers to just the long piece of cloth/bandage that is soaked in lotion/lube and is not an article of clothing. Otherwise, use wet_clothing/wet_underwear or cum_on_clothing/cum_on_underwear whichever appropriate.

I would love to hear some feedback to these new tags. If anybody knows Japanese and is familiar with this kink as well, I would also want to know what is the commonly-used term to call it.

cloth_glansjob breaks the normal convention of <something>job tags meaning <something> is stimulating a penis, and a "cloth_glans" or "glans" isn't the thing stimulating the penis (see also topic #57392 aliasing glansjob to glans_play because of this misnaming). Perhaps cloth_glans_play would more clearly reflect the things involved in the given action (playing with/stimulating the glans with cloth).

lotion_gauze I guess works fine for the object, when it looks like some kind of gauze that's covered in lotion. Although from those examples, I think only this one
post #4787276
has that appearance, the others just look like generic cloths, possible wet from some pre or cum. There could be issues keeping that from being overused due to intent rather than appearance.

I have no objections to that, though I guess it wouldn't hurt to also alias cloth_glansjob to cloth_glans_play.

Yeah, that is one of the problems I anticipated. It could either be very strict to the word (i.e., only lotioned pieces of gauze) or be more lenient (i.e., any type of fabric, lubed or not)

I think it is fine if we would include other types of cloth (and not strictly just gauze) for the tag since the fabric used is often depicted vaguely.
However, this does not mean we would imply either cloth or gauze to the tag since it could be either one or even a different type of fabric entirely.
I can imagine scenarios where a character would "magically" transform a piece of goo and turn it into a stretchy fabric-like object and use that for glans play.

On that note, I don't think we should imply lube or lotion to the tag either since it could be used "dry" (as in it is not obvious that it is lubed; e.g., post #3390519), with someone's genital_fluids, or even some ambiguous substance or slime.
