Given the recent changes to the tags for female anatomy, the "balls" tag seems to have been left behind. If we're going to be more specific with the female reproductive syste, then we should also be more specific with the male one. Therefore, I hereby propose that the "balls" tag be changed to "scrotum" and a separate tag be made for "testicles" themselves when those are visible in the image. This would mirror the specificity that now applies to the tags "vulva" and "vagina". I'm new to this whole thing where someone requests/suggests major changes to the tagging system, so I'm not quite sure how to go about it officially. If someone does know how to request it properly, assistance would be appreciated, or maybe an admin will see this directly and start a conversation on their side of things.

If you had read the actual discussion thread on the change from pussy to vulva (i.e., topic #46033), you would have seen the reasoning behind the move as well as additional discussion as to whether balls should also be renamed.

In short, pussy was renamed because:

• It interferes with tagging since it was nondescript and ambiguous (i.e., could refer to either the external visible area or the internal vaginal_canal).
• It was crude slang term and may be offensive to some.

As for balls,

• It is a non-issue since it does not suffer any of the same problems as pussy.
• Even if we were to change it to a proper term, it is currently a non-priority (until all relevant pussy-related tags are moved) and will actually take longer to move since it involves more tags as compared to pussy.

It would be a major task involving the use of Bulk Update Requests (BUR) to unalias everything from balls, followed by realiasing & renaming everything appropriately back to the new tag.
I would not suggest making one now since pussy is still being moved and a proper course of action should be planned before going through with the BURs.

I swear we need to hang some posters up saying "We're not changing balls"
