Topic: unalias twink from femboy

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

not sure when this happened but I think it's very dumb to consider twink as the same thing as femboy. I have various examples of images tagged with femboy but there is nothing feminine about the bottoms in the art. I asked how to embed pics but after trying it didn't work via preview so I will post the post number instead

574239 - slim, fit, 100% masculine
435817 - literally zero feminine traits whatsoever
2351042 - I'm assuming because the eyelashes? Still dumb to tag as femboy
2174894 - zero feminine traits
1284933 - basically the opposite of femboy
789674 - one of the best examples of twink
690090 - still failing to see what is feminine here, is it just because he's a bottom?
3154166 - another great example of a twink
3464072 - I think I've made my point by now

So does femboy just mean sub bottom male? Because in all of these examples, they are all tagged as femboy but there is nothing feminine about the bottoms aside from being bottoms and a bit subby.

I'm in total agreement. "Femboy" feels like a throwback to chan-board culture from 15 years ago, and I don't think the way we use it makes sense to most people today. I would let twink and feminine_male stand alone as valid tags. In gay culture, a "twink" is not necessarily (or even typically) feminine, and there are males with feminine traits who are not "Femboys". I would also separate masculine_female from tomboy, for the same reason.

E6 definition of Femboy: "A male-bodied character with a feminine presentation in regard to personality, clothing, and/or body type"

how does any of these qualify as feminine presentation?

Just a tip, whenever you draft a comment, you should see the line "All text is formatted using DText" right above the "Submit" button.
Clicking on the link should show you all the example markup language used to suit to your formatting needs.

In this case, typing thumb # followed by the post's ID (e.g., thumb #574239) should embed the desired post into your comment.
Bear in mind that there is probably a limit to how many embeds you can have in a single comment.

Example

sweet, thank you for that :)

Also, this is not the proper way of requesting for something to be unaliased.
You should be using a Bulk Update Request (BUR) next time to submit a proper request.
Otherwise, nothing gets submitted into the system and this discussion would be for naught.

However, in this case, you don't need to submit a new BUR since this already exists as part of another topic, see topic #40593 and leave your thoughts/votes there.
It is also worth reading the preceding discussion on why the alias was made in the first place, see topic #31345.

to be fair this forum is very confusing, or at the very least not noob friendly. I didn't even know what BUR stood for

Where? I don't remember that, mister 4chan user
And also that request is over a year old so it already has active conversation, so this would be considered a duplicate thread

well you waited until I made this thread to tell me there's already an active one year old thread about it. While this one is up tho I believe I've made a good case and I await what others have to say

No I didn't lmao
Don't try to gaslight me

Edit: I found the one message that you're probably referring to, in which all I did was tell you how to do the thumbnail embedding

DonovanDMC was the one that said to take it to another thread, Nin10dope just told you how to do thumb embeds,

Right here, I said "How do I embed an image so I can make the thread" and you gave me instructions on how to embed. If you were gonna say my thread is a duplicate you could have told me there instead of wait until I made the thread is all I'm saying

That's a very warped retelling but if you say so

look at how feminine the femboys are in this

femboy:
A male-bodied character with a feminine presentation in regard to personality, clothing, and/or body type (sans breasts).

Femboy includes both the body type and clothing (as well as personality, whatever that means)

Posts can be mistagged? I'm not sure what point you're trying to prove here

For personality, see Flamboyant :P
I got called that a lot

a lot of the examples I shared USED to be tagged as twink before the tag twink was swapped with Femboy despite a complete lack of feminine presentation. I'd like twink brought back and not tied to femboy

Twink was aliased away 8 years ago, half the posts you mentioned were uploaded more recently than 8 years ago

then that means the tag femboy is misused quite a lot then. Again, does Femboy just mean "submissive bottom male"?

At this point it feels like you're being deliberately obtuse

Can someone explain to me what is feminine presenting about this, and if there's nothing, I can keep finding more and more which means this tag is misused frequently. Both twink and sissy change to femboy, WHY?!? Sissy I can understand (but still dumb tbh) but twink is not girly, sissy or feminine. Undo the alias so images that used to have the proper tag of twink could have femboy removed

donovan_dmc said:

I'm not, nobody has presented a real case why the images I've posted thus far count as feminine. That means that femboy is very loosely defined on this site and just means gay bottom who isn't a bara. What happend to tag what you see? I don't see femboys in these I see twinks. I'd like to put twink but it's tied to femboy so I believe femboy should not equal twink

Because no one is disagreeing with those posts not having an explicit feminine body

This one could be argued because of the clothing, the art style just happens to be a little too detailed with realistic human body shapes for some.

so does any image that has a male wearing gamer socks mean it has to have both crossdressing and femboy? Does everything that's male+crossdressing=femboy?

That's a logical fallacy, man

dominant twink, but I guess it's gonna be dominant femboy despite lack of feminine. Honestly Ratchet here is the the PERFECT example of a twink, absolutely perfect. This is why I want the tag to be brought back. It's beautiful and I want to find more like it

If you don't like how something is tagged incorrectly, do yourself a favour and edit the tags of the posts to remove any erroneous tags you find.

If you want to use the twink tag, you can't at the current moment. Full stop.
Trying to force the twink tag onto posts will only result in it being tagged as femboy.

If you do not like how twink automatically changes to femboy, bring your arguments to topic #40593 like multiple users have advised you to do now since discussions are already ongoing over there.
Arguing here will not accomplish anything since the people you are trying to convince are on the other topic thread.

Yes, the is the common advice we would give to new users who don't know better about the forum rules.

We do not want users to derail the old thread with irrelevant discussions as they could get slapped for Spamming.
We would instead advice them to create a new thread so that they don't drag things off-topic any further.

However, what was not mentioned before is that you should also make sure your topic doesn't already exist as part of another thread. In this case, topic #40593.
Therefore, creating a second thread is not necessary and any duplicate threads will tend to be locked by an admin to prevent further comments.

very well, I'm probably just gonna copy paste most of what I already posted here over there but whatever helps restore twink
