Topic: Emotional regulation stuff?

Posted under Off Topic

I've been swinging from anger to sadness since late April.

Whenever i experience any other emotions, sadness, anger, or both kind of stay in the background. Sometimes, when anger and sadness do go away, such as when i give all of my attention to something that makes me happy, anger and sadness will come right back and hit me as soon as it's over.

Palpitations, nausea, and headaches come and go every single day. I've greatly reduced my daily caffeine intake, but that does not seem to help.

The best course of action is to seek professional help, it could be anything from mind to body.

I think maybe these could be emotions that are reflected of things you can't control in life and/or frustrated that there are goals you aren't reaching. I don't know where you live but you could research about meditation or other stuff to calm down or at least distract yourself.

Sorry if that didn't help much.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. A primary care physician might be the first place to go. They might refer you to a therapist or try something else. Please take care.

As someone who's been dealing with Bipolar Depression...pretty much forever....I'd really second the suggestion that you get professional help. And be as specific as possible when you get to the doctor.

Also, if you are taking any kind of medications, you could be having side effects of those. I had thyroid probs and the doc's medication gave me some of those same symptoms. Gradually I overcame them with the doc's help. Good luck to you.

If you're able you should definitely try to see a medical professional, but I get that not everyone is able to. It sounds like you could be having some anxiety? I'm not saying that's ALL you have, but it can manifest in ways that don't always scream anxiety. As someone suffering from multiple life long mental health conditions...it's annoying as fuck to hear, but journaling, exercising (doesn't have to be anything crazy, just taking a 15 minute walk counts) and eating better really can make a huge difference. Journaling will help you get more in touch with yourself and maybe figure out some things that might be lurking below the surface and bothering you that you didn't consciously realize. Exercise releases all the yummy endorphins and feel good chemicals. Also if you're able you might get a home blood pressure cuff and maybe a blood sugar test kit, I know it sounds random but those are quick and easy things to check. I hope you get to feeling better.

me 2 brah. hate and depression lingering in my head

I understand what you’re going through. Going through depression and anxiety is something I can relate to. In line with what 111111111one said about eating better, a couple of things that help with mine are foods rich in magnesium and taking artificial dyes out of my diet, especially red 40, yellow 5, and yellow 6.

I got new meds, but now, instead of anger and sadness, I only get sadness, although now it's overwhelming. Also, I have a weird feeling in my gut that I would describe as the opposite of butterflies.

At least I no longer have nausea and headaches, and palpitations are far less frequent, but I think those were mostly because of the hot weather of past months.

How long have you been on these meds? Sometimes they can take up to a month to fully go into effect
