You could also do these as an alias. That way if someone searches for the old tag name, they get automatically redirected to the new tag.

In a Bulk update request an alias request would look like this:
alias kama_(wendigoop) -> kama_(torturabbit)

Under the bottom left edge of the script box there is a Help text. Click on it to see all the tag changes you can do with a BUR.
