Can there be public upvotes? It would be neat if we could see each other's upvotes. I curate mine to have stuff like interesting things I want to reference or keep track of, sfw art I like, things I want to fav but aren't really a fav tier post, and a collection of weird things I find that I sorta like.

Edit: Nevermind I misremembered. The stealth app just lets you see exactly how many upvotes and downvotes a post has.

Changing something that has been private for decades to suddenly be public is just about one of the worst ideas that can be had

Adding a new setting that's default off is definitely one thing, but you could just create public sets and list them on your profile or something
You can have up to 75 of those with 10,000 posts each

You don't need an app for this, just hover over the post's score

if you're on mobile you _could_ go into CSS and use an ::after to print that stuff to the screen. that's what I do to get the pool's current page to show up.
the utility of showing the full vote data is pretty minimal, honestly, and almost certainly not worth trying to fix how it'd mess with the page layout.

I do agree with everyone else here, and I’d also just want to bring up, what even would the point of having upvotes public anyways, especially when we do have public favorites?

Because it would be used to see if particular users are downvoting your art/characters routinely. Like being subscribed to a channel you hate just so you can downvote the video, but everyone is a peer and you can't stop a specific user from giving the big red/green arrow of judgment.

So yeah it would probably get used for spite

I was actually somewhat thinking about that too, but yeah, that’d definitely just be inevitable

I've had my art downvote spammed 3 separate times, if you think that is happening it's best to report it to an admin using the report function. they got it fixed for me as quickly as they could.

Oh this hypothetical scenario wouldn't even be something most people would notice
Just imagine that all of your character posts had (at least) one or two downvotes consistently, but sometimes more if it just wasn't a well-liked post

no that is *exactly* what happened to me. 2 downvotes consistently on every post and then the user started downvoting comments on my posts from other users, which is when i took action.

I haven't put any actionable thoughts in my head about that for my character's art but it's something that every now and then tickles the back of my mind

It's worth noting Admins & Moderators (and only them, not Janitors, etc.) can search for posts upvoted/down voted by a user (voteddown:username). For everyone else, it ignores what you typed & just searches your votes.

Just in case someone thinks they can be sneaky, there are currently 12 people who can catch you very quickly.
