Topic: Tag alias: tailbutt -> side_hips

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #76285 tailbutt -> side_hips is pending approval.

Reason: "side hips" is a more intuitive name than tailbutt for what the definition of the tag is. Notably, in topic #42705, the creator of the tailbutt tag explains what it means saying:

"note that the hips are always to the side of the tail, at most slightly converging to indent the tail rather than completely merging into one "hip" piece."
A direct link to where this is said; Only works on certain browsers

side_hips is currently on 17 posts but doesn't have an agreed upon meaning, as can be seen in the inconsistency of the content in the posts that it is used on.

You should let the idea bake a little bit first (i.e., let people comment about it) before making a request.

Honestly I don't see a problem here, it'll be much easier to gain a consensus with an actual request (with a voting feature) rather than a single reply to a year-old post which has already shifted halfway down the front page.

As for the suggestion, I don't actually see this being any more descriptive. As somebody unfamiliar with both tags, I didn't even understand what it was trying to portray until I read the tailbutt wiki page, which actually seems more intuitive despite having problems of its own.

That is even more confusing to me. Hips are always on sides, and the side hips does not imply at all that a tail is somehow an important part of this tag (which it is).

Not sure why you are referencing a old draft proposal definition rather then the actual wiki that carries the finalized definition given that pretty much the most important aspects of the tag are that the subject has a tail + this from the wiki: "("buttcheeks" not present)".
side_hips does not cover these at all. Side hips could mean a whole lot of unrelated things.
