Topic: Approval of FurID™ Posts to Preserve History

I love the idea and implementation. The creativity many have put into their submissions is amazing. I think it would be a shame to lose all of it once the approval time limit runs out.
Therefore, I would like to suggest to approve all posts with the furid_(e621) tag. If not for their artistic value, then at minimum for their historical.
In my opinion it is a great view into the e6/e9 community.

On theory I could AI generate some FurID and also ask to leave it because why so seriously? It was an April fool’s day! While it will be also completely irrelevant to site like low effort MS-PAINT garbage pictures.

This is just about one of the worst takes imaginable, maybe don't make ai your entire personality on a site about actual art.

Dude shut up. I held off replying to your other absolutely horrendous takes, but you are seriously annoying. “Oh no some people had fun drawing, well it’s horrible trash and my ai art is so much better”, read the room, let people enjoy an April fool’s community project, and stop whining about your ai use constantly.

I'm not going to shame you for whatever tools you have for your personal use & I'm explicitly not here to be anti or pro AI. I say that so you know I'm not here because I disapprove of what computer programs you use.

But what you're saying is sad, hollow & pointlessly mean spirited and.. honestly unnecessary & it would be even if you drew every picture you've made by hand. What do you even get out of it?

The FurID thing isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. A lot of it is not expertly done & it might be ephemeral & it might ultimately not stay with the site. But thousands of people, many who don't typically engage with art on a personal artistic level tried out art, some for the first time, had a bit of levity in a sad & trying time, and were comfortable enough to share and that alone is honestly cool as hell.

You don't have to care, you can think it's silly. But the fact you don't see that it's about community involvement & the fact you think it's merely about results is honestly just.. sad.

i think it would be cool to archive them, at least the ones uploaded on the day itself if nothing else. there was a lot of cool stuff uploaded, but even the more casual ones are a fun little bookmark to some very wholesome community history. I get the desire to keep everything uploaded to a certain level of quality, but I think the context around these doodles makes for a perfectly reasonable exception

That's what I hope for.
We should keep those submitted until maybe April 2nd and where someone cared to take the time and actually sketched/drew something.
For now I have archived them myself, but that is not very useful for the community.

Not to sound like a downer, but I'm ok with most of them disappearing in the coming days. It was a fun joke, we all had a laugh, and now it's time to move on. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to internet archives who put in the hard work of preserving what they can. Hell, I've even made my own archive of the first 4.1k posts. But that's the thing, do we really need (as of this) 4.5 thousand random doodles of meme fursonas? I would say, "Eh... no... not really..."

On the flip side of the coin, I know quite a lot of post have been officially approved. Thanks in no small part to the dedicated mods who've been saving the best of the best. I do hope a majority of these will stick around for years to come.

Either way, this was a blast, and I can't wait to see what e621 is cooking up for next year. 👍

Definitely that masterpiece deservers to bypass quality requirements https://e621.net/posts/5476493
Also, I read many times on forum that "e621 is not your personal art gallery, it is a curated imageboard with strict Uploading Guidelines", "Ultimately, we expect some decent artistic effort being placed into artwork creation".

Taking a post of someone clearly taking the piss out of it and using that as a reason to delete each and every post is yet another absolutely scalding take
Obviously some posts are so piss poor or just outright jokes that they will get delete, rhat is in no way the point

Still doesn't understand a hate to my side. The post was about approve ANYTHING with such tag. That what exactly I was versus. AI was another absurd example what may happen if we will allow just anything. April Fools' Day doesn't gives you a magic ability to bypass quality requirement.

Someone should make an absurd_res absolutely_everyone post with all of them in a tile configuration from order of posting. Just keep it all in one place. That or a slideshow of all those that have the most upvotes to immortalize them.

That is an interesting idea, but there are 4.5k posts to fit into one. A collage would be about 27.000 by 20.000 px in resolution.
And I would miss the context of the uploader, description, and comments. To me that is equally as importand as the drawings themselfes.

Looking at FurID makes me think of Different Strokes, a kind of community art gallery. Difference is that the art is only made once, and not (typically) edited over.

An external party gluing together images (be that a single image or slideshow) would be a trivial edit and likely deleted with even more prejudice

There ~5k total images, and the maximum image resolution here is 15000x15000 (225 MP)

I got a record for being a bad guy, but e621 itself was a brutal site. Even artists questions e621 stuff members what they found "not meet minimum quality standards (artistic)". So, making exception for that event I also can ask why you don’t appreciate the first try of that member https://e621.net/forum_topics/56369 or why that user got negative score https://e621.net/users/2015215 . I didn’t find FurID much better on quality, but they suddenly got positive score. Is not that feels unfair

About "that guy is evil, burn him on" while I was versus applying "than thing that you can't call" of any kinds even when paintovers was allowed. Yes, I was on your side here, is not? Even with paintover expection I was versus AI on e621.
https://e621.net/forum_topics/47144
Also I didn't see any real artist defenders that will try to ask him do not use AI of any kinds even with that questionable expection.

I also still don't understand why you allow "that thing that you can't call" for background as expection if you don't like "than thing that you can't call" of any kinds.

What in the hell are you yapping about
You didn't get a record for "being a bad guy", you got a record because you're extremely annoying and shove ai down everyone's throats any chance you get
Quit while you're behind, seriously
